Story Picture Sequencing

This can be done with younger or older children, but keep in mind how many facts your children can remember. Don't give little kids 20 pictures to sequence - firstly they'll be overwhelmed by the number of pictures and then they'll forget the story!

• Before the lesson create picture cards to relate to important events in the story. (With the marvel of technology you could look up the net and find many great stories already done for you!)
• Tell the story to the kids, using all your normal dramatic story telling techniques. Make sure you show the kids the picture cards while you tell the story.
• Give each child a picture card (or select some behaved children). Put the children and their cards in order.
• Get each child to tell the part of the story that corresponds to their card so the entire story is told.
