Pig Pen Game
Back to games related to Bible stories
This game was so called because when the children get into the game it can feel like you are in a pig pen. The more loud and crazy, the better!
Resources: a stack of animal cards. I drew my own cartoon animals, but you could download ones off the internet or cut them out of magazines. I used this when doing the Animal Praise! program so I created new African animal cards. We've also used this game for Creation, Noah's Ark and Christmas (barn or farm animals at the stable).
- Stack the animal picture cards in a pile on the table.
- Line the children up parallel to the table on the opposite side of the room so all the children can see the table.
- When you say go, the first child runs up to the table and takes the first picture card off the top of the pile.
- The child acts out the animal until someone from the rest of the group guesses it.
- The child runs back, tags the next child who goes up and acts out the next card.
Variation: If you have many children you can split into two or more groups and race between the groups. The first group for all the children to act out one animal each wins.
