When telling a story, draw simple pictures on the whiteboard. Get the children to copy these pictures onto their paper while telling the story.

I often use special story boards which I have created for this. They are very simple to make. Laminate a piece of brightly coloured paper and use whiteboard markers to draw on it. To erase use tissues. Whiteboard markers can stain so watch that younger children don't draw on clothes or accidently rub their card on their clothes because the marker will come off the board onto clothes.
