Inclusive dramas
Back to Story Presentation Ideas
This idea is that the children are involved in telling the story through acting it out. This works well for most Bible stories. There is no set way to do this. I usually do it with minimal props (so we don't spend our time setting it all up and packing away). Sometimes we use signs that the children hold or maybe a headdress or other significant prop. Usually I read the story and let the children try to think about how they will move, giving direction when needed. It is a good idea to think about how you will act out the drama, perhaps omitting parts of the story or focussing on different parts if it is important. Sometimes it can be difficult to act out parts, so think first how you will get around these potential difficulties.
