Height Chart Object talk - Growing Spiritually

How tall are you? Choose a young (and small) child in your group. How tall is he (eg 4 year old Jack)? Choose an old (and tall) child in your group? How tall is she (Eg 12 year old Jess)? Jess is 8 years older than Jack. How much do you think Jack will grow in the next 8 years? A fair bit because he will probably be about Jess' height. How else can we grow? (Our hair, our hands, our waist lines!) Do you know we can also grow spiritually?

2 Peter 1: 5-8 says, "Do your best to improve your faith. You can do this by adding goodness, understanding, 6self-control, patience, devotion to God, 7concern for others, and love. If you keep growing in this way, it will show that what you know about our Lord Jesus Christ has made your lives useful and meaningful." (CEV)

Just like we grow up taller (show progression on the height chart) we can grow up spiritually.
