Cooking!

I have to be honest... I don't often do cooking. It can be time consuming to set up and may seem like a lot of work - but trust me, the kids love it! It's worth putting time, money and energy into it if you want the children to remember your lesson for years to come. My children still remind me of a particular cooking lesson we did 18 months ago because we had so much fun that lesson.

I'm lucky to have a small class so watching the kids while they cook is fairly easy. We do not have a kitchen, we do it in our rented, carpeted room which requires a lot of creativity. If I'm feeling up to it we might trundle our food across to the kitchen on the opposite side of the rec centre to use the oven or fridge, but usually we work with electric frypans and a bucket of water. Lack of resources is no excuse!

This is my Kids Cook Book. Some need a fridge, oven or microwave, but if you don't have those resources (like I didn't when I started out), don't despair! You can still work wonders the kids will love. Take a look.
